Longtime readers of Esquire's ongoing best-of-the-year TV list will know that December is a cruel month. It's when we narrow down our favorites of the year (you'll notice that we have a hefty twenty-eight entries in the current batch) into a ranked top-ten list. It's always an impossible fight between our entertainment editors when we have to figure out whether or not a season like Curb Your Enthusiasm 's final bow will live in Esquire small-screen history.

Now, I don't want to spoil my final column in December, but I just looked at our top ten from 2024 —and I can safely say I would have no problem placing at least five shows
