SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A Holyoke man is facing charges after crashing a stolen ATV into a car in the area of State and Thompson Streets in Springfield.

Kerluis Torres, 24, was reportedly driving the ATV illegally on city streets when he rear-ended the car shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday. He tried to reverse and drive off, but the ATV was lodged under the car.

Police said Torres then fought with officers and ripped one of their batons from their utility belt, but he was tased and was taken into custody. He’s now facing a dozen charges in addition to 11 other charges related to an outstanding arrest warrant out of Holyoke.
