REARDAN, Wash. — At least one person was killed in a crash involving a garbage truck on U.S. Highway 2 just east of Reardan, according to the Washington State Patrol.
WSP says troopers responded to a head-on collision involving a car and a garbage truck around 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
U.S. Highway 2 just west of Stroup Road is fully blocked, and WSP says detours are in place. Westbound traffic is being diverted to Coulee Hite Road, while eastbound traffic is being diverted to Carstens Road, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
WSP says there is no estimated time for the road to reopen, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
