The Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History is celebrating a decade of preserving Park City’s legacy.
And true to tradition, gifts pertaining to resilience and durability signify the 10th anniversary.
“Reaching our 10th anniversary means that a number of our most iconic properties will still be with us, we’re hoping, for another 100 years,” said Sally Elliott, committee founder and co-chair. “When I started out, I said to myself, ‘We’re in this for the long haul, baby,’ but I didn’t realize how long it was going to take to raise money and do all the preservation.”
Since its inception in the autumn of 2015, the nonprofit committee, an initiative of the Park City Museum, which is under the Park City Historical Society umbrella, has stabilized and saved 14 structures. (See accompanying list
