4LANCASTER, Pa. — A Lancaster County man was sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to brutally beating his wife to death inside their Elizabethtown home four years ago.

Christopher Alexander Mello, 43, entered the guilty plea Thursday to one count of first-degree murder in the killing of his wife, 39-year-old Alexandria Reynolds.

Judge David Ashworth accepted the plea and imposed the mandatory life sentence, telling Mello the court had no power to undo the “horror” of his actions.
