LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - As the government shutdown drags into its fourth week, federal employees across Kentucky are going without a paycheck for this month.
Yesterday, the Senate once again failed to advance a GOP-backed measure to pay federal employees who have continued to work during the shutdown.
From military personnel to air traffic controllers, some Kentuckians are trying to battle the uncertainty.
For Tyler Sutter, a UK student and jet engine mechanic for the Air Force Reserves, he relies on his military stipends to pay his way through college.
Now, he said the government shutdown has made it difficult to know if he’ll get paid or even be able to attend college next semester.
