(KRON) -- Four gray wolves belonging to an established pack in Northern California were killed by wildlife management after persistent livestock attacks, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced Friday. Officials said one of the wolves, a juvenile, was unintentionally killed because it was mistaken for one of the adult targets.
The four wolves belonged to the Beyem Seyo pack in the Sierra Valley near the Tahoe National Forest. According to CDFW, the pack was responsible for 70 total livestock losses between March 28 and Sept. 10., accounting for 63% of all livestock losses across all California packs in that timeframe.
