FERRUM, Va. (WDBJ) - The Blue Ridge Folklife Festival will bring thousands of people to the campus of Ferrum College Saturday, October 25.
The celebration of Blue Ridge heritage is now 52 years old.
And most important, organizers say, is the chance to bring people together around the traditions that make this region unique.
Bethany Worley is the Executive Director of the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum.
“They get a glimpse of everything that’s very special about the area,” Worley told WDBJ7. “And I think it’s fascinating for people to be exposed to all of this in one day, whether it’s the coon dog water race, draft horse pulls, the delicious Brunswick stew and fried apple pies, you know the hand-made crafts and of course four stages of music, which are incredible.”
