FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — A local police department is stepping up to feed their community.
The Franklin Police Department is asking people to come drop off nonperishable food items in the collection bins inside the police department lobby.
The lobby will be open for donations Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They'll also be available during Pumpkinfest for anyone who wishes to give.
FPD is partnering with OneGenAway for the food drive. OneGenAway is a nonprofit based in Franklin that fights hunger by delivering healthy food to families in need all across Middle Tennessee.
Peanut butter tops the list of most-needed items, next to canned goods, boxed meals, pasta, rice, and other nonperishables.
The drive has already begun; there is no scheduled date yet for the drive to end.
