MIDDLEBURY, Ind. (WNDU) - In years past, Middlebury Food Pantry Executive Director Pam Bingaman has challenged herself in unique ways in effort to raise money, like padlocking herself in a pantry.
But this year, she raised the stakes — literally — by trapping herself atop the marching band tower at Northridge High School, vowing not to come down until she reached her fundraising goal $50,000 for a new box truck.
“Our box truck is on its last leg, and we rescue thousands of pounds of food every week in that truck, so we need a new truck,” Bingaman said. “So, as a fundraiser, I’ve committed to doing ‘Trapped in the Tower,’ and I’ll be trapped in this tower until we raise $50,000 to buy a new truck.”
