HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Construction on the I-69 Ohio River Crossing Project is progressing on both sides of the river. On the Indiana side near Evansville, it's the visual progress of new approach bridges going up. Meanwhile in Henderson, we are just days away from 2 miles of new roadway opening up to drivers.
"What we have talked about for so long, and it seemed like almost this hypothetical that we always talked about, is so close, now, to becoming a reality," says project spokesperson Mindy Peterson.
Work is well underway on three approach bridges in Evansville, with the bulk of construction focused on what will be a nearly 4,000 foot long approach to the new bridge. Peterson says once complete in late 2026, the bridges will be used by workers for "all weather access" when building t
