U.S. President Donald Trump was at it again this week, putting a halt to trade talks with Canada — leaving business leaders such as Murray Mullen to “hope calmer heads prevail.”
Mullen is looking for a resolution. He also wants provincial politicians, such as Ontario Premier Doug Ford, to stay out of the fracas.
“This is a federal issue, not a premier issue,” Mullen, head of Mullen Group — one of Canada’s largest trucking and logistics providers — said in an interview Friday afternoon.
“These are complex negotiations, (Ford) obviously didn’t help the situation. And it’s just frustrating. I just go, ‘Politicians, you just get in your own way here’ . . . Too many chefs in the kitchen don’t make a better meal.”
