John Malkovich has a new starring role — as John Malkovich for JW Anderson.

The veteran actor has been tapped as the face of the designer’s new loafer bag campaign that launched today. In a series of firsts, the creative images mark the first time Malkovich has worked with Anderson and the first campaign of the new era of JW Anderson since the brand relaunched earlier this year.

Anderson’s campaigns, whether for his namesake line or Loewe (which he departed to take the top job at Dior), have typically featured a convergence of art, objects and fashion , more often than not in a whimsical way. That remains true for Malkovich’s entry as the 71-year-old admires an embellished boot, traces the wall with his hand and hoists a neon colored fabric high over his head.
