CLINTON CO., Mich. (WILX) -Thanks to last year’s students winning a welding competition, students at Clinton Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) can now sharpen their skills safely.
Out of nearly two dozen schools competing, it was Ovid Elsie High School students who won the welding competition at Ferris State University last year.
“Once they get out to these welding contests and get to challenge themselves against other students, it makes a big difference in how they see themselves in the welding career,” said Justin VanCourt.
VanCourt, the welding instructor at Clinton County Regional Educational Service Agency, only takes a couple of students to competitions.
To win, students had to showcase how they use safety protocols while they weld.
