SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV)-- Several events are set to take place on Oct. 25 and will cause traffic delays and parking complication.

"It's going to be an uptick in traffic, mainly because of road closures due to the parade, the Film Festival," Lieutenant Dana Purvis with the Savannah Police Department (SPD) said.

Many downtown Savannah streets and parking spots will be affected by the Savannah State University (SSU) Homecoming Parade which is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Oct. 25. No parking zones will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday.

"The main roads that will be closed down is by the staging area for Savannah State," Purvis said. "That's on East Broad Street between Gwinnett and Liberty Street. All of those side streets, no parking. We will be towing vehicles that are parked there."
