OZARK, MO – The opening of new lanes on U.S. 65 marks the end of heavy construction on a years-long project to widen the freeway.
On Friday, MoDOT opened all lanes of traffic on the stretch between Route CC, Route 14, and Route F. It marks the completion of the project to expand the highway from four to six lanes all the way through the City of Ozark.
While all lanes are now open, MoDOT says its crews will still be wrapping up some other work along the stretch. That includes striping the asphalt, installing guard cables, and performing some final work in the median.
In addition to the additional lanes, the segment also includes new concrete median walls and overhead directional signage at the interchanges.
