PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A familiar East Peoria hotel is closing its doors, but it’s not moving far.

Construction is underway for the new $20 million Hampton Inn Suites at its new location by the Bob Michel Bridge near the Levee District, just 10 minutes from its current location.

“The way Hilton does that is once the new Hampton Inn is ready to go online, then this [older] one will be taken offline. And speaking with the property owners, their intention is to keep the property and rebrand it,” said East Peoria Mayor John Kahl.

The new hotel will include 100 rooms, with an indoor pool, free hot breakfast and a fitness room.

The new hotel is expected to be ready by Spring 2026.
