Plans to modernise Scotch College have been revealed with a three-storey complex set to replace a now-demolished administration building at the prestigious boys’ school.

Located at the college’s Shenton Road entrance in Swanbourne, the building would house the school’s new administration centre.

The proposed design, which is significantly smaller than the two-storey M-block which was demolished this year, will also free areas for more outdoor greenspaces on campus.

School council chair Tim Wiese called it a courageous decision in a submission for the college’s 2024 yearbook, but the demolition met some community backlash including an online petition which described M-block as embodying the “spirit and legacy” of Scotch College.
