VENICE, Fla. ( WWSB ) - As we continue to follow Tropical Storm Melissa’s path, a Venice faith-based nonprofit is eying the weather after returning from Haiti after their weekly supply run to missionaries in the island nation.
For more than 40 years, Agape Flights has worked to bring humanitarian aid to missionaries in the Caribbean. This week, all eyes are on tropics as Melissa threatens to bring devastating floods to the region.
Agape staff say they’re on standby to see if the Caribbean will need assistance after Melissa passes through.
“Right now, we are in a wait-and-see mode,” Greg Hamon, the director of flight operations, said. “Nobody really knows exactly what kind of path this thing is going to take or what it’s going to look like when it does ... as the needs to respond comes
