GRANDIN, N.D. – A woman was killed Friday, Oct. 24, when she was struck by a train in Grandin.

The 71-year-old woman from Grandin was walking west on Third Street just after 2 p.m., when she was struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train at the crossing, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

In addition to the patrol, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the Grandin Fire Department and Sanford and Hunter ambulance responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation, the patrol said.

Grandin is 30 miles north of Fargo along Interstate 29.
