Midcap mutual funds have historically delivered strong returns for long-term investors, according to a new analysis by WhiteOak Capital Asset Management Company. The Nifty Midcap 150 TRI generated an average 10-year rolling SIP return of 17.4% and a median of 17.9%, based on data from April 2005 to September 2025.

The midcap segment showed positive returns in 100% of periods, surpassed 10% returns in 98% of instances, exceeded 12% in 95% of cases, and crossed 15% in 79% of periods.

WhiteOak Capital emphasises that a longer investment horizon significantly improves the likelihood of decent returns.
