LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Rain and low visibility created a dangerous situation when a “disturbed man with a baseball bat” started to walk along the busy K-10 highway south of Lawrence.
The Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department says that around 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, a disturbed man with a baseball bat was reported to be in the area of W. 33rd and Michigan St.
When investigators arrived at the scene, they said they learned he had left. However, he was spotted walking along the South Lawrence Trafficway shortly after.
While traffic continued to successfully pass the man, law enforcement officials said they tried to talk him out of the roadway.
