As people get ready to celebrate Halloween, Boston police are warning college students and others to be aware of drugged drinks.

Safety tips from the Boston Police Department include urging people always to keep their drinks with them, cover them when possible, and to accept drinks only from a trusted source, like a bartender, server or friend.

If you think you've been a victim, or see someone in distress, you are asked to call 911 right away. The drugs used to spike drinks are often colorless, odorless and tasteless. They can cause disorientation, confusion and other serious side effects that leave a victim vulnerable.
