A piece of Washington Township history made its way to a new location Friday morning.

The Thorington Schoolhouse, after being purchased earlier this year by Washington Township officials, was moved to a park designed in partnership with local students.

“After years in the making, I’m proud to share that this morning around 9:30 a.m., the schoolhouse began its move from its original site and arrived safely at its new home in the Thorington Five-Acre Park around 10:30 a.m. This new park was designed by the talented students of the Romeo High School Architecture Program,” Washington Township Supervisor Sebastian “Sam” Previti wrote in a Facebook post.
