Just about a year ago, in October 2024, in Chicago, clocking a record time of 2:09:56, Ruth Chepngetich shattered the women’s World record in the Chicago Marathon. But in less than a year, that world record was put to the question. In July 2025, she tested positive for Hydrochlorothiazide, which is one of the many banned substances.
