OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announced two additional arrests on Friday in a drug round-up operation that began Oct. 1.
The sheriff’s office reports it obtained 35 warrants on 23 persons based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover officers. The narcotics purchased included fentanyl, methamphetamine and prescription medication.
Deputies said that 16 people have been arrested as of Friday morning.
One of the most recent arrests was 47-year-old Susan Marie Smith from West Union, who was charged with two counts of distribution of methamphetamine. She was arrested under a warrant service on Playground Road and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Thursday, where she was issued a $70,000 surety bond, deputies said.
