MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — Morristown city leaders passed new regulations for all mobile food vendors, including when and where they can operate.
Steve Neilson, the city's development coordinator, said this was designed to expand the code and give food trucks greater opportunity.
"We want our food trucks to succeed," he said. "We want them to thrive, but we also want to protect the surrounding neighborhoods."
Alex Martin owns Big Al's Bent Creek BBQ & Catering . He said these new rules restrict his business. His biggest issue is with the time constraints.
The code states, "Food trucks may not locate overnight, or operate outside the hours of 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM on privately owned property. Exceptions are only allowed for approved Special Occasion Event Permits or locations with current Loca
