Troy football holds off Amsterdam to clinch coveted No. 2-seed in Class A’s Capital Division

AMSTERDAM — Only a few plays separated Amsterdam football from earning the right to host its first home playoff game since 2017. Those painstaking moments will have to become a source of inspiration ahead of a true elimination game next week, on the road.

“We know that we were in the game,” said Rams senior quarterback Luis Tirado. “Some little lackluster mistakes were big in the first half. We could have come back in the second [half].”
