DIAMOND BAR — The Los Altos football team shook off an early 14-0 deficit. The Conquerors kept their cool when the Diamond Bar offense got on a roll in the third quarter. Then, Los Altos maintained poise in the closing seconds of the game to fend off an inspired Diamond Bar team 49-35 on Friday night to clinch at least a share of the Hacienda League title.
Los Altos (9-0, 4-0) can wrap up sole possession of its first league championship since 2016 with a win against Walnut next week.
Diamond Bar (3-6, 3-1) needs to defeat Chino next week and then needs Walnut to beat Los Altos to earn a share of the league title.
It was a back-and-forth game throughout much of the contest. Los Altos took its first lead of the game with 6:36 remaining in the fourth quarter when Evan Rojas took a handoff
