Fire crews have been battling a huge blaze overnight at a recycling site.

The fire service is advising everyone to keep windows and doors closed if they live or work near the Medway City Estate in Rochester, due to smoke coming from the scene.

Firefighters were initially called to the site at 11pm last night, with six fire engines and a bulk water carrier in attendance.

Crews used main jets to begin containing and extinguishing the flames.

They are still battling the blaze this morning, with four fire engines and a bulk water carrier still at the scene.
