OLENTANGY, Ohio — On Friday, the Olentangy Orange Pioneers defeated the reigning Division I state champions, Olentangy Liberty, 26–14, putting the cherry on top of a perfect 10–0 regular season and earning themselves a first-round bye in the playoffs.

“I’m proud of them!” head coach Wes Schroeder said. “It’s hard to get a team of our size to produce this amount of effort and truly buy in. When we came here, Orange was in a different spot. For this group to go 10-0 is pretty special.

“This is not the end. We have a lot of work to do, and there’s a lot we want to accomplish. I understand there haven’t been many teams in this district’s history to go undefeated in the regular season. This was great to do, especially with our schedule and in our league. I’m really proud of our guys.”
