Two members of Australia’s women’s cricket team have been “touched inappropriately” by a man in India during the team’s World Cup campaign, Cricket Australia has said.

“CA can confirm two members of the Australian women’s team were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore,” CA said in a statement released on Saturday night.

“The matter was reported by team security to police, who are handling the matter.”

The Times of India is reporting the players were “allegedly stalked and molested by a man while returning to their hotel” on Thursday.

The Australian team are due to play South Africa in their World Cup pool match in Indore at 8.30pm on Saturday.
