For the second time this year, with just nine months left until candidates qualify to run for office, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board is seeking proposals from firms willing to draw new election maps.

Absent any action by the school system, Registrar of Voters Steve Raborn says that in fall 2026, parish voters will select their elected public school representatives based on a nine-member map approved in 2014. That map was used in 2022 for what was supposed to be one last time due to litigation that year.

“I would assume that they are the boundaries that we held last election on, unless they inform me otherwise,” Raborn said.
