Two members of Australia’s women’s World Cup squad have allegedly been stalked and ‘touched inappropriately’ in India, with authorities arresting a suspect.

Cricket Australia released a statement on Saturday detailing the disturbing incident that occurred ahead of Australia’s final pool match against South Africa in Indore.

“CA can confirm two members of the Australian women’s team were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore,” CA said.

“The matter was reported by team security to police, who are handling the matter.”

The incident is alleged to have happened around 11am Thursday morning, the day after Australia’s six-wicket win over England, with the suspect riding away.
