Pittsburgh Police are investigating after a dead infant was found inside the trunk of a car on Pittsburgh's North Side.

Police say Pittsburgh officers received information from Ohio Township Police that a female from that borough had arrived at a Pittsburgh hospital after having given birth to a baby. Advertisement

However, according to police, she did not have the baby with her. The woman then left the hospital against the advice of doctors.

She was questioned about the infant's location, and officers were directed to a parked vehicle on Federal Street in Pittsburgh's North Side. Officers found the infant wrapped in clothing and placed in a plastic bag in the trunk. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.
