China has once again showcased its technological prowess in high-speed rail by successfully testing the world’s fastest train, the ‘CR450’. During the trial run, the train touched an astonishing speed of 896 km per hour, breaking all previous global records.

Earlier, Japan’s L0 Series Maglev train held the record with a speed of 603 km/h. With this latest achievement, China has moved far ahead in the race for ultra-high-speed rail travel.

China plans to operate the CR450 on the Shanghai-Chengdu high-speed rail corridor, connecting two of its most important cities. However, commercial service will begin only after the train successfully completes 6,00,000 km of test runs.
