New Delhi, Oct 25: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reported that nearly 1.5 crore train passengers have travelled so far this festive season, with over 2.5 crore expected to travel by the end of the season.
The Indian Railways is preparing for the safe return journey of passengers after the Chhath Puja festivities, with 6,181 special trains notified for October 28. Around 30 stations in Bihar are preparing for the festive rush with holding areas, additional ticket counters, CCTV surveillance, and other passenger-friendly arrangements.
The Indian government is also investing over Rs 200 crore in developing energy-efficient microprocessors for high-performance computing.
