CHICAGO (WGN) — A man is dead and another is recovering in the hospital after a shooting and crash on the city's West Side early Saturday morning.
According to police, the incident unfolded just before 5:30 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Augusta Boulevard in Humboldt Park.
The officer said the victims, a 37-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, were traveling westbound in a red Dodge Charger in the area when an unknown individual opened fire on the vehicle. Amid the gunfire, the charger crashed.
Officers said the 37-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his back and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The 29-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head and was hospitalized in critical condition.
