BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) - A driver has died following a three-vehicle crash in Berkeley County.

Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday on US 17 Alternate near the intersection with Peartree Lane.

The driver of a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu was heading north on 17 Alt when they sideswiped a southbound Ford F-150, then hit a freight liner truck head-on.

The driver of the Chevrolet died at the scene; the other two drivers were not injured.
