STOCKTON, Calif. —
The Stockton Police Department on Friday released officer-worn body camera footage of a deadly police shooting last month , in which a 19-year-old was fatally shot while running from officers.
Officials said the shooting stemmed from a "proactive vehicle checkout" just after 6 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the area of Doray Court and Pixie Drive.
Stockton police said the man, identified as Rocco Robinson, of Stockton, was sitting in a vehicle that was double-parked on Doray Court when officers approached him.
The video shows Robinson trying to rush out of the vehicle, and a struggle ensues with the two officers. One officer can be heard saying, "I'm going to [expletive] shoot you, stop!"
After a few seconds of struggle, Robinson appears to get away, but drops a gun magazine
