PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The City of Portland is closer to selecting its first permanent city administrator.
Two months after launching the search, officials have announced that almost 100 applicants from across the U.S. are vying for the position. The administrator is tasked with overseeing the city’s budget and workforce of around 7,000 employees. They also serve as the mayor’s advisor.
Strategic Government Resources is leading the hiring process, according to the city. The recruiting firm has already conducted initial screenings and virtual interviews with the applicants.
SGR is now narrowing down the search to a group of finalists who will undergo in-person interviews and assessments next month. Mayor Keith Wilson is slated to select a finalist, who will have to be authorized by city
