Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet has given its nod to a new scheme called “Aahaar” with a substantial outlay of Rs 512 crore for a period of five years, from 2025-26 to 2029-30. The scheme aims to provide subsidized meals to beneficiaries, ensuring uninterrupted service.
The cost of each meal under the Aahaar scheme has been enhanced from Rs 23 to Rs 27, while the beneficiary contribution remains unchanged at Rs 5. The government subsidy per meal has been increased from Rs 18 to Rs 22. Aahaar centres will continue to provide quality services to beneficiaries.
