VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach man was found guilty of multiple sex crimes involving a child under 13 following a three-day jury trial, according to the city’s Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Marlowe Prince Simon, 42, was convicted of two counts of forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, and indecent liberties. The jury recommended two life terms plus 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors said Simon sexually abused a child he knew multiple times between Jan. 1 and May 7, 2023. The child told a family member about the abuse, and they took the child to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. Hospital staff alerted the Virginia Beach Police Department and Child Protective Services, which launched joint investigations.

Simon will be sentenced on Nov. 24, 2025.
