Tesco shoppers will notice something different about delivery drivers in the coming months.

Employees who help deliver 1.45 million online orders to shoppers each week will be equipped with body cameras to help protect them from threats and violence.

More than 5,000 delivery workers will be given the cameras by the end of the year, the Mirror reports.

Tesco has seen an increase in incidents involving its delivery drivers in recent years.

The company hopes cameras will deter potential aggressors, however they won't always be recording.

Cameras will only be activated if a driver feels threatened, the Mirror reports.
