Heads up for CTA riders who will be out and about this weekend: Four busy train lines in the Loop will be shut down.

The transit agency will be replacing "critical track switching equipment at the Tower 18 junction" at the intersection of Lake and Wells streets, according to a news release. The work requires a temporary suspension of Loop elevated trains on the Brown, Green, Orange and Pink lines.

That area is the busiest section of track in the entire system, the agency stated; roughly 700 trains pass through in all directions on an average weekday.

The affected lines will operate normally outside of the downtown area.
