A large plume of smoke could be seen rising from a car fire in a parking structure at Woodfield Mall Saturday afternoon.
Around 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Schaumburg police responded to a report of a car fire in the Macy's parking lot at the Woodfield Mall, located at 5 Woodfield Mall.
Police said a person in the vehicle that caught fire had a medical emergency, however, another person who was in the parking lot helped pull them out of the vehicle and they were not injured by the fire.
Three other vehicles were damaged by the fire, police said.
As of 4:20 p.m., the fire was put out.
Videos on social media showed black smoke rising from a parking structure near the Macy's store and a response from both the fire department and police.
Flames could be seen, in addition to the smoke.
