Former Jays’ pitcher Dirk Hayhurst admitted on X during Game 1 of the World Series that this was the first baseball game he’s actually watched in three years.
Well, at least he picked a good time to tune in.
The Ohio native was clear heading into the game that he would be cheering for the last team he ever played MLB games for.
Hayhurst spent two seasons in the MLB, playing for the San Diego Padres in 2008, before joining the Jays in 2009. He played 15 games for the Jays that season, which was his last stint in the majors.
Following the emphatic Game 1 victory for the Blue Jays, the 44-year-old admitted that
