It was an electric night at Rogers Centre for the Toronto Blue Jays’ first World Series game in 32 years.

And, it was capped off by audible jeering from the crowd towards one of the best baseball players of this generation.

After Blue Jays fans booed Shohei Ohtani during his first at-bat , they stepped up their creativity with a chant during his last appearance at the plate in the ninth inning.

As Ohtani stepped up to face Jays’ pitcher Eric Lauer in the ninth, the Toronto crowd serenaded the Japanese superstar with chants of “we don’t need him.”

Lauer ended up walking Ohtani before sealing the victory with a strikeout against Mookie Betts.

Ohtani was reportedly close to signing with the Jays in 2023, before eventually inking the biggest contract in MLB history with the Dodgers.
