A Morgan State University student is one of five people recovering after a shooting outside Howard University in Washington D.C. This all happening during Homecoming weekend for the HBCU.

DC Metro Police Chief Pamela Smith said just before 8:30pm Friday night, MPD officers were patrolling the area and “responded to the sound of gunfire in the 600 block of Howard Place Northwest. A total of five shooting patients were located. Four adult males and one teenage juvenile male”.

Police Chief Smith said all patients were transported to area hospitals by DC Fire & EMS. She confirmed that two suspects are in custody, and three weapons were recovered.
