CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The City of Cedar Rapids Solid Waste and Recycling Division will start leaf collection on Monday, running through December 5.
Residents can expect leaf vacuum trucks to collect leaves every other week, depending on their quadrant. Collection for southeast and northeast quadrants is scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays, while southwest and northwest quadrants will have collection on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Leaves should be raked to the parking area or grass by the street by 7 a.m. on their designated collection day. In areas with many mature trees, heavy leaf fall might delay collection. Crews will use Fridays and Saturdays as makeup days if needed.
Leaves must be kept out of the street and free from obstacles. The vacuum truck will not pick up leaves from alleys, and
